ONLINE CURRICULUM

Instructional Delivery Models

·Traditional - All students, All Teachers, All Day, Face-to-Face Instruction

·Curriculum: Schools PLP (Pre Kindergarten-12); ACCESS (9-12) based on ALSDE Standards



Teaching and Learning

·Traditional -Teaching and learning will occur utilizing traditional methods; online methods will be practiced

·Online Student Management System will house student assignments

·Formative and Summative Computer-based Assessments via Schools PLP will be given


·Additional required federal/state/district assessments to be administered to students following federal/state district guidelines


·Contact local schools regarding the need for Internet accessibility


·Online Student Management System will provide access to all curriculum


·Etowah County Virtual Academy application is due by Thursday, July 23, 2020

Intervention and Assessments

·Development and Implementation of Intervention plans for students with deficits

·Assessments will be administered in-person or digitally

*Adjustments to the instructional delivery models, teaching and learning, and intervention and assessments for special populations (IEP, 504, and/or EL students) will be determined by the individualized student plan.

** Instructional phase will be determined in conjunction with ALSDE, ADPH, ECS, and consultation of medical professionals.  Plan is subject to change.

HEALTH AND SAFETY PROCEDURES

 

Cleanliness and Hygiene


·Enhanced cleaning and disinfecting of classrooms, restrooms, and common areas

·Hand washing/hygiene routines/Hand Sanitizer Stations throughout schools

·Facial coverings for employees will follow Governor Ivey’s Health Order (Item 13c). We highly recommend that students wear facial coverings as practical and feasible


Social Distancing



·Practice social distancing protocols including: Line spacing; staggered class change and/or hall movement

·Alternate classroom seating arrangements

·Suspend assemblies & large gatherings during the school day


Transportation

·Seat students with members of household

·Staggered bus loading and unloading

·Twice daily sanitizing of school buses following morning and afternoon routes



Child Nutrition Program Services

·There will be a curb side pickup option for virtual students

·Students choosing a traditional plan will be served meals in takeout style containers. No self service

·Meals will be served in the cafeteria, classrooms, or a combination of both

·Occupancy in the cafeteria will be decreased by 50% or more with as much distance as possible maintained between students


Parent/Family Services


·Conferences/Meetings: In person or virtual parent/guardian

·Check-in/out: One parent/guardian allowed inside

·Visitors access will be extremely limited




Parent/Guardian Expectations

·Monitor child’s temperature every morning.Students with temperature of 100.4 or higher should stay at home

·Monitor for COVID-19 symptoms

·Teach and reinforce proper handwashing, coughing into elbow/tissue; not sharing personal items/supplies; self reporting any symptoms to teacher/nurse

·Notify local school principal directly if the student is exposed to COVID-19, the student is tested for COVID-19 or a household member tests positive for COVID-19
