Homework

Your child should study their spelling words and sight words each night at home.
Your child will have Reading practice homework Monday-Thursday & Math homework every Tuesday & Thursday. Homework will be posted on SeeSaw Each day. 
Also make sure to check the L and R sides of your child's B.I.R.D. Book Folder. Please clean out this folder each night.  


Tests
Each Friday your child will have a Reading, Spelling, Grammar, Oral Reading Fluency, Math, and Social Studies/Science test. Please look over the skills with your child each night to help prepare for these tests. The skills will be in the newsletter that is posted on SeeSaw. 

Test papers will go home on Monday of each week. Please sign your child's Weekly Progress Report on SeeSaw by typing your name. Please do this by Tuesday of each week. 


Classroom Learning Materials

Reading- We use McGraw Hill Wonders series.  There are weekly lessons that focus on specific skills and grammar. We will also be implementing Orton Gillingham Phonics instruction within our reading curriculum.

Math- We use the Harcourt Go Math program.

Science
- Our science comes from Pearson's Science program and the Alabama Course of Study. We will also be implementing Science lessons from SchoolsPLP platform.

Social Studies - We use Studies Weekly which teaches skills based on the Alabama Course of Study. We will also be implementing Social Studies lessons from SchoolsPLP platform.

Technology is embedded within our daily lessons on our chromebooks, as well as, during the day in the classroom using our Promethean board for interactive lessons. We also have iPads in our classrooms that students are allowed to use during certain times throughout the day.
