Classroom Learning Materials

Reading- We use McGraw Hill Wonders series.  There are weekly lessons that focus on specific skills and grammar. We will also be implementing Orton Gillingham Phonics instruction within our reading curriculum.

Math- 
We use the Harcourt Go Math program.

Science
 - Our science comes from Pearson's Science program and the Alabama Course of Study. We will also be implementing lessons from SchoolsPLP.

Social Studies - We use Studies Weekly which teaches skills based on the Alabama Course of Study.  We will also be implementing lessons from SchoolsPLP.

Tests
Each Friday your child will have a Reading, Spelling, Math, and Grammar test. Please look over the newsletters information with your child each night to help prepare for these tests. 

Test papers and conduct reports will go home on Monday of each week. Please recognize you saw your child's progress
report on Seesaw by putting your name in the comment section.  You may keep your child's test papers.  

Homework
Reading will be Monday - Thursday nights.  This will be sent on Seesaw.  Your child will sign in to their students account and click to return their assignment to their journal. 

Math will be Tuesday and Thursday nights.  This will also be assigned on Seesaw and returned to their journal.

Spelling will be sent out on Monday.  Study spelling each day for test on Friday. 

Sight words will be on the newsletters.  Please study these each week because they will be on the Friday reading test. 


Technology
Technology is embedded within our computer lab visits, as well as, during the day in the classroom using our Promethean board for interactive lessons. We also have computers and iPads in our classrooms that students are allowed to use during certain times throughout the day.
