Supply List

Whitesboro Elementary First Grade

Dear Parents,

The following items will be needed in first grade.  Please purchase them and bring them to the school on at the Parent Orientation.  It is very important that each student has a parent represented at this meeting. Parents may also bring school supplies at this time. We like to have everything organized before school begins, that way we can give our full attention to the children on the first day of school.  The students will not come to this meeting.

All first graders need the following:

24 school pencils (We recommend the #2 plain yellow pencils not                 the decorative).

Pencil top erasers

1 pair of scissors

15 glue sticks

3        plastic pocket folders with prongs

3 large boxes of baby wipes

2 rolls of paper towels

1 package of washable markers

1 spiral notebook (wide rule)

     1 primary journal - creative story tablet (9 3/4 in. X 7 1/2 in.)

1 D’Nealian Multi-Program Handwriting paper, grades 1st and 2nd  ½ inch ruling

2 dry erase wipe-off markers to be used by the children

6 boxes of crayons 24 count

3 large boxes of tissue

1 zipper bag or clear cosmetic bag to hold school supplies

Girls - quart zipper sealed storage bags

Boys - 1 bottle of hand sanitizer

Wonder Assessment Workbook for $10.  This will be available to be purchased at the Parent Meeting.

We also ask for a donation from each child of $10 which covers the cost of Scholastic News, and craft supplies.  Please label all supplies except paper towels, hand sanitizer, and tissue. Also, please put your child's name on all personal items such as coats, lunchboxes, backpack, etc.  We have tried to cut the supply list to the absolute essentials in order to help you when purchasing supplies.

We realize many of you have two or more children for which to buy school supplies and we hope by getting this list now, you can find many of these things on sale this summer and buy a few things at a time.  We look forward to working with your children next school year.

                                     Thank you,

                                     First Grade Teachers
